Some totally crappy news and some good news...

Lets start with the crappy news first, since it makes Mom's eyes leaky. Last night a little puppy dude came scratching at our door. We live on a very busy street, so we have no idea where in the world he came from!?

Handsome little dude, right?

So Dad hung up some signs, and Tanner got his play on...

But see my face in this pic...

I am a little bit stressed about this dude and the mayhem that he brought to my home. Little dude stayed the night and nobody called for him. Dad hung up more signs, Mom posted on the internet on a couple of lost dog places and still nothing.

Then I got more and more mad. Yes, I really am an asshole, but this is MY house. Mom and Dad realized its not fair that I be stressed and Tanner is getting his butt KICKED (and bit) so Mom and Dad started calling around and couldn't find a home or foster for the little dude. SO Mom and Dad sent the little dude to jail. Mom feels so terrible she has cried and is thinking about that little dude, but she said nothing is more important than the health and happiness of Tanner and I, so she had to do it. Now she feels like everyone should mail HER a box of poop. I told her that we are not the perfect family for that dude, and just like Tanner, when he goes to jail maybe he WILL find his perfect family. But Mom still feels sad.

BUT we did get some very good news too...

Look, its ROCKY and his humans. Look how HAPPY he looks. His Dad emailed and said he is recovering faster than anyone could have expected. He is still limping and has some cuts that need to heal, but he is doing great all things considered. I know that the power of the DWB healing vibes helped my buddy. Thank you all. Maybe now we can send good luck vibes to the little dude and some happy vibes to my Mom who feels like she needs to wear the A$$hole shirt for a day.

He is a cute little guy and will probably get adopted fast. What makes me and my Mom mad is that someone dumped him at your door, knowing that you are dog people. We have a friend who lives in the country and people dump dogs at her place all the time. If she kept them all she would have A Puppy Farm, so she is good friends with the Shelter people and they know what she has to do. You did what you had to do and we don't want you to feel bad over this. Feel angry over the dumper!

Kisses,

Stella

Your mom should not feel bad at all. Mom didn't post about it but she had to do the same thing a couple weeks ago because she found a smaller dog and since I hate them she couldn't keep it here. They tried and that is what counts. They are also right. You and Tanner have to come first.

Poor little Dude, but your Mama did the right thing. I am sure he will get adopted real soon, my J says he looked a lot like me when she first adopted me.

Tell your Mama to dry her eyes, she did a good thing by taking him in. She has to be fair to you and your family too though.

I am sorry not to have been around, I have been competing for your Stain Award..........

And yes, the person who dumped the Puppy Dude on you needs to feel bad not your Mama!

Joey, your mom and dad did the right thing. You and Tanner had issues, so the little fella needed to go somewhere else. Remind your mom to check Craig's list...that is where we found a post for a doggie that wandered into our yard.

Hey Joe,
Tell your mom she shouldn't feel bad! My Mama always says everything happens for a reason, and maybe little dude escaped a nasty situation and showed up at your house because your mom would be responsible and take him to the shelter where he's gonna find his forever home!

Aww crikey Joey, tell your mum she did what she had to do. She's right, you guys come first and our pinkies would have done the same.
If the little cutie was dumped on your doorstep I hope the Karma bus hits the people that did the dumping square between the eye...grrrrr.
He's so sweet he'll probably get adopted real quick. We hope your mum is feeling better today. We're sending your pinkies big licks for trying so hard to help out.

That's wonderful news about Rocky! He looks great!!!
And your mom SAVED that little dude from getting hit by a car or any of the really scary things that can happen to us out there! His people would be sure to check for him at the jail - so your mom shouldn't feel bad! This could be the way to get him home!!!
Your mom rocks, Joe, REALLY!

Hi guys,
First - horray for Rocky! Thanks for sharing that good news.
Second - please tell your mom to stop those tears because she did a wonderful thing by rescuing that little guy off the dangerous street, then attempting to find his owners. She is not an a-hole at all - now this guy has a chance at being found by his old owners (if he accidentally escaped and ran a long way?) OR being adopted by a family who will be perfect for him!
Don't worry - we will think good thoughts for him and it will turn out all right. Hug your mom for me - she is a wonderful person!
Love Clover xo
P.S. Did I tell you that I got your card? Thank you! It is so sweet. :)

Mango Momma here with my own story.
I picked up a stray from the parking lot at work once. She was all beat up and looked like she had been out for a while, but very sweet. When nobody claimed her, I brought her home. She rode the whole way with her head in my lap.

Fast forward. Once home, she was instant velcro dog. She clung to me and wouldn't even let my other two into the room. My poor basset hound was so upset she just sat down, facing the wall, as if to say, kill me now.

I slept in the guestroom with the little orphen and then took her to jail in the morning and cried and cried.

Not much else you can do. Tanner and Joey do come first.

At least the little pup has a chance thanks to you picking him up.

Most cute puppies get adopted really fast from the SPCA, so I wouldn`t worry about him too much... It really is a shocker how some humans can't be trusted with us dogs.

I mean, how difficult can it be to put a collar and tags on us? Or have us microchipped?

Sigh.

I guess not everyone has good parents. We`re all so very lucky here!

ps: yey for mister Rocky!!

I wouldn't have put up with that little dude either. Yes, play it off like you were "stressed" and make the Mom feel all bad. But we're both a bunch of super cool, bad assed Momma's boys who don't like to share. Deal with it! Mom's eyes get leaky like that too and I just tell her to suck it up. Only room for one dude in this house!

Go Steelers!

Joe--

I'm totally late to the party. I think that your dad's hoodie AND the photobook are just the coolerest ever! Well, other than your mom. I'm sorry you couldn't keep that cute guy. My ma ape has wanted to foster some dogs at our SPCA but she can't because I'm sick and, well, I can be a real asshole. You gotta do the right thing by everybody. I hope he gets a GREAT home just like you guys did (though it's a shame that you couldn't sneak Tanner into the car to go to jail--hahahahaha! And take Oscar with him!)

Hey! Your Mom shouldnt feel bad AT ALL... She did her best she could. Afterall, some hoomans may not even bother to do what she did.

She's an ANGEL!

Alrighty... There's something we need to ask, why is it that ROCKY's Dad tries to imitate him? LOL!!!

Love,
Rudolf & Goofy

P/S: We've tagged you in our roll!

Woah, I'm totally late to comment on this, but I have to echo evfurrybody's comments. Your Mom did a Very Good Thing to bring the little guy into shelter for as long as she did. He was safe while he was there. But she does have to consider you and Tanner furst. There have been lots of doggies that The Girl would love to foster til we found their homes, but she's just not in a position to do that. If she just had to manage my reaction, she'd be a lot more tempted. But with the two Min Pins and the two cats, it would just be too much.

Also, The Girl volunteers a lot at our shelter, and she says that the people there are good and loving and really care about the animals. So even though there's bars on the doors, there still is love there, and it's more likely that the little guy will find his furever people. But she knows how hard it is to take furries there. Give your Mom extra brown dog kisses,
Dannan

Hey Joe and Tanner,

We have been super busy lately but wanted to tell you that you shouldn't feel bad about dumping the puppy at the jail- he is very cute and bound to get adopted fast! We just think it sucks somebody dropped him off at your door, but it is super sweet of your mom and dad to try and find his home. And you and Tanner do come first. At least we would with our parents, so it only makes sense that ya'll do with yours!

Maybe your mom is crying because she and your dad aren't getting xmas cards? Our mom complains about it every day!!!
