How do you spell relief?

Tanner got a super awesome wonderful package for his birthday that is from our great friend Luckie and I WILL talk about that but Mom REALLY wants to talk about one other thing real quick.

Thursday night she noticed the Doofus looked more um Doofusy than usual. Upon closer inspection she noticed that he appeared to be suffering from a condition called Cherry Eye where some eye wetting gland POPS out of place and looks all GROSS. Mom looked in her favorite book ever:

Awesome book

and saw that the condition is not an emergency and more than likely will have to be treated with surgery to tack the gland back in place. So they planned on making a call to the vet today to make an appointment for this week because they said I need some SHOTS (WTF- thanks for the warning folks) BUT this morning they woke up and the gland is back where it belongs!!!!!!!!!! Mom and Dad are so happy. The Doofus seems pretty happy about it too. His eyes are a little goopy so Mom thinks maybe it was just irritated from allergies or from all the dust they kicked up cleaning out a bunch of old books and stuff.

That is how he looked just yesterday and now his eye is totally normal! I just wish his Doofusism would cure itself over night! Mom is glad because Tanner's birthday is next weekend and she would hate to be planning for a surgery, even a minor one like he might have needed. In fact it is so minor Mom asked me if I might have done the surgery while they slept. Well, anything is possible, I am the BRAIN!

Was Tanner licking his eye again? I'll bet that was the problem. You may need to perform an emergency, middle of the night tongue extraction.

What's wrong with his tongue? Can they do surgery to fix it?

Joey: Please be sure you sterilize your instruments before you put them back in the knife block. Your mom might really get worried if you left too much blood on them. Good Work Brain

The dogs I have known with cherry eye look grosserer than that so maybe he doesn't really have cherries in his eyes. Because everyone knows cherries go on the bellies. Except maybe a brain transplant. Maybe he and my sissy can go in on the same day.

But what's this about you getting SHOT? That's totally uncool.

I get that all the time (well, not ALL the time) and it always goes away in a few hours by itself, so my girl decided not to go for the surgery.... Hope Tanner doesn't have to go in - especially on his birthday!

Ooh, I'm glad Tanner didn't have to go into surgery during his birthday week. That was really Doofusy of him to scare everyone before his big day! I'm glad he's better again :)

You see what happens when you let the humans read books, they panic about everything. Or they watch the dog whisperer and try and train you. Glad Tanner is ok though.

oh wow i'm so glad tanner's eye popped back in where it belongs. mom said surgery is when they cut things on you, and that cannot be good.

i think tanner's eye heard all the scary talk and healed itself. especially the discussion about joe being able to do it while you all slept...

I am glad Tanner's eyes are okay now. Phew...he must have seen something he shouldn't have. Did he like peek at your dad in the shower? or maybe your uncle?
PS : I am glad Tanner's package arrived safe and sound. Not to mention Mr Postman was very hardworking!!!

Oh my goodness...I'm so happy that Tanner doesn't have to go under the knife. That means he would steal all of the attention and that would suck. It's gonna be bad enough on his barkday.

Ike's mom here - sometimes that gland can pop in and out. Often, it ends up out more than in and it has to be repaired surgically. I would make sure that he doesn't have something stuck in his eye or he wasn't getting into something that caused a bunch of inflammation - if it's just inflammation, I wouldn't worry - it shouldn't pop out again. He's a little old for having the true prolapsed gland, but he is a doofus, so you never know.

Oh boy. Good news about Doofus, I mean Tanner.
I'm sure you could have solved his problem for him if you were given the chance to operate. Your rates would probably be a lot better than the vet's too.

Glad everything is okay and hope it stays that way!!

Glad the Doofus is back to normal... well, normal for him! No surgery = happy Doofus.

What's the deal with the shooting that's going to happen? Is that REALLY necessary? With your BRAIN, I'm sure you can employ your powers of persuasion and stop the ball rolling in that direction.

Good luck with that, man.

Goob love,
Stanley
