Thunder Joes!

Hey guys, my Thunder Shirt came in the mail yesterday!! If you haven't heard of them, you can check out their site. Stella and a couple of other dogs mentioned them so Mom thought she'd give it a try since it does have a money back guarantee.

It has not stormed in the last 2 days since we got it, but Mom put it on me as the instructions recommend I get used to wearing it in non-stormy situations so I don't always associate it with a bad or scary thing.

It goes on nice and snug, so that it works by applying pressure in the right places.

I think it totally shows off my muscles, don't you agree???

I kind of wiggled around in it at first...then this happened...

I got really, really sleepy...

Did you see me?? I was practically asleep until I heard my Dad messing with something, but then I laid right back down. I sure hope it has this same calming effect next time it storms or there are fireworks. ASU's football season starts soon which means the STUPID noisy cannon and fireworks will be going off and we will definitely get to try the shirt. I will totally let you know how it works!!

Joey!!!! You should watch the Errol Morris documentary with Temple Grandin. She's the woman whose science that whole thunder shirt business is based on. Mom thinks you should just watch all of Errol Morris's doc, but esp that one.

Tell your mom to look for the Errol Morris series called "First Person." It was originally broadcast as a tv series. That Grandin gal did all sorts of stuff with cows. Really super interesting. Your mom should also rent Gates of Heaven, which is MOrris' doc about a pet cemetery.

Okay, I am having my second last sleep as an only dog, and I'm dreaming about you.

A magic jacket? That is most interesting. I hope it works. I don't think it really flatters you, but one does what one must. Sigh.

Hi Joey
We have never head of these jackets!
You look fantastic and we guess it will make you feel safe and sort of cuddled!
You looked very tranquil in the picture so hopefully it will have a good effect.
We are now hoping for a little storm for you just to see how it goes.

You look wonderful in your thunder coat. Do they come in sizes for Teka? Not that she is afraid of thunder, but if it would just put her to sleep....Oh man..peace in the valley.

You look super muscular. Have you been working out? Lifting Tanner-- or that piggy? I need one of those for Arrow 24/7.

We've heard about those pressure shirts -- and about Temple Grandin too who's autistic and has used her experiences to make life easier for animals. Her boks are really interesting.

You do look very handsome in it -- we wonder if it would help JH forget to bark at the slightest noise.

Hey! Maybe it hasn't stormed since you got it because it PREVENTS thunderstorms!!! Wouldn't that be cool!?!?
You do look totally buff. It's my favorite outfit I've seen you in, right after your Detective Stains coat. That looks awesome!

Hey Joey, the thunder shirt is great - very masculine looking and all. Not like the silly things Mom made Phantom wear. We sure hope they help you.

And about those low windows for pups to see out, can't your humans put in a low one for you - they seemed to handle the spackling job pretty well:-)? Or maybe they could install some low-to-the-floor portholes.

Joey,
That coat looks real good on you (my mom says you look "dashing"). I never knew there was such a kind of coat. Let us know how it works when it storms. Or maybe you'll be asleep, and miss it.

Do they make a vacuum coat? Mom says I need one of those.

Hey, Joe! I'm glad your Thunder jacket came and it looks VERY cool on you, real muscular and tough!

My Mom is gonna get me one pretty soon. Do they make you feel warm? I have such a thick coat I think it
it would make me too hot. Maybe be good for SNOWSTORMS, huh, Joe?

Hope it works in real storms just great and you snooze right through them all.

Kisses,
Stella

Joe, you're gonna love this shirt (or the other one I've seen called an 'Anxiety Shirt'). At the first rumble I fold Molly into hers and whammo, it's off to doggie trance time. One time we even went in the car with it because she gets very upset at car tire noise going through puddles- she sat and looked out the window and didn't even notice! It's a MAGIC JACKET, and I am never going anywhere without it- like swaddling a baby to calm them. Hope you get to experience a little thunder soon so you will also be a fan!
